The chair is textured! It feels a bit blocky but I have fixed the smoothing groups, so when it gets into Unreal, it will be nice and smooth.
I also got the floor modelled and properly UV'ed so that the light looks better inside Unreal. The light-map also got turned up, so the shadows that come throught the windows are so much nicer to look at now. Light still shine through the walls, buuuut that will be for tomorrow.

Self Study Day 7
I had a meeting with my supervisor today and he advised me to get the lighting to work as the next thing so that will be what I'm doing for today and tomorrow. For lighting to work I need walls that can cast shadow, and proper UV's on everything, so that the lightmap will bake properly in Unreal.
For getting a better view of the light he suggested giving everything a neutral shader, which is why the chiffonier's texture is white for now.
Also modelled the vase and the table it stands on.

Self Study Day 6
Mostly research about manipulating cameras in Unreal Engine and I modelled a chair. I'll upload a close-up when I have it textured.

Self Study Day 4
So I had some trouble getting Quixel to work and it took quite some time to fix and I'm still working on getting everything to make sense.
But I got my chiffonier textured and generally got to understand Quixel much better. For those that don't know: Quixel is a suite of tools (NDO, DDO and 3DO) that are texture plugins for Photoshop, that allows you to create different kinds of maps (normal maps, bump, specular ect.) by painting directly on the texture or on the fully rendered model. It also have a big library of textures that you can quicky apply and edit. It's quite sweet, even though it feels a little chunky sometimes.
Here is my chiffonier rendered from 3DO:
Daily cameras, added the chiffoniers texture in Unreal and fiddled a bit with the lights.

Self Study Day 1
So me self study finally started! I'll be posting day to day pictures as the scene change. For now there is only proxy models and some quick lighting, just to have the scene set up in Unreal Engine.
The self study will be 4 weeks long, so it's gonna be exciting to see how far I'll come!
